The 1838 Gobrecht dollar obverse combined with the 1836 reverse. These are fantasy pieces struck with plain edge for collectors using die alignment III sometime in the late 1860s to mid 1870s along with the unique copper example of J89/P99 For additional information on this and all copper Gobrecht dollars, click here.

All examples show die cracks through "NITED STATES O"

and through the "OLLA" in "DOLLAR"

and also a raised die mark (rust?) between the left and right base of the "A" in "States".

Only 2 are confirmed, Granberg-Brand #92341 and the W.W.C. Wilson-Brand #90915 examples. These probably account for the Farouk and Lohr specimens. The illustrated example is ex Dr. Korein, ANS and the other was in the Share collection.

The reeded edge listings in Judd and/or Pollock in both silver P97 and copper J90/P100 are unconfirmed and doubtful.
