This is a dated obverse die trial, in white metal, for the 1948 Franklin half containing the designer's initials "JRS" in 2 different places. It is believed unique and is ex Melnick 11/82 from which this illustration is taken. Another example listed as JA1948-1/P3629 with 'XXXX' instead of the date is also said to exist.
