A partial copper proof set from the quarter to the double eagle including the rare trade dollar was given to Jacob Smith, who authored the Mints visitor's guides under the name A.M. Smith for his wife. The set was sold by Bolender in February 1936. A second copper trade dollar of this year was offered by Bolender in his October 1935 sale and is likely from the same source.
