The only confirmed patterns of this year of the Grant Memorial half dollar and gold dollar. We show the half dollars below. JA1922-5/P3566 JA1922-7/P3572 and gold dollars below including J2025/P2066 and this example JA1922-9/P3578. It is listed in Judd and Pollock as having been struck from an obverse die and a reverse hub. It is also possible that this is some kind of brockage mint error. If it is the latter, then a brass planchet somehow got placed between the obverse die and a Grant gold dollar with the reverse of the coin "serving" as the other die.
