This pattern is believed to have been struck outside the mint from dies sold as scrap that were purchased by Joseph J. Mickley. 2 of the 4 known examples show rotational doublestriking on the reverse. The illustrated example at the top, ex Crouch-Superior 6/77, Stacks 11/08, shows a 170 degree rotation on the reverse between strikes. Click on the thumbnail image to see an enlargement.
